Employment Opportunities

Join us in providing hope, creating opportunity, and transforming lives. We assist people currently experiencing homelessness with rebuilding their lives and working towards self-sufficiency. We work with men, women, and children facing the myriad of tough situations living without a home entails. Located in Midtown Houston, the agency’s services include: day shelter/resource center, mobile outreach, healthcare, housing, adult education & GED preparation, job training & job placement, and early childhood education via our House of Tiny Treasures.

PATH:

Case Manager (MSW)
Provides intensive case management to people who are homeless and have a serious mental illness. Makes appropriate referrals for needed services within search and other agencies to help clients get connected to services and disability benefits if eligible to accomplish goals such as stabilization, medication compliance, and permanent housing. Knowledge of and experience applying evidenced based practices such as the transtheoretical model and motivational interviewing ideal. Experience with dual diagnoses helpful. Prior work with a client tracking database required. Masters in Social Work preferred or equivalent masters level degree.

Employment Services:

Personal Service Representative:
Must love a fast paced environment and be able to meet H-GAC’s placement goals. Provides intensive job search assistance including case management support to customers with special needs or those who need more support than an Employment Counselor can provide. Daily activities include intensive case management, one-on-one counseling, and job placement services. Work directly with TANF applicants and customers. Previous experience with TWIST and WIT systems strongly preferred.  Prefer a related BA/BS degree plus two years employment related experience. Current experience with a WorkSource Center or with the homeless a plus.

Fundraising:

Development Associate: Special Events  
Plans and implements two major events annually: Luncheon & Gala, in addition to smaller scale events during the year with our Young Ambassadors group, Board Members, or other outside third parties. Coordinates vendors, staff, and volunteers to ensure maximum net proceeds for the agency from every event big or small. Works with event chairs, committees, and staff to coordinate every aspect of producing successful fundraising events. Bachelor’s degree with strong preference for 1-2 years related fundraising experience.

Tentative Postings:

We are also seeking candidates for Clinical Case Manager Supervisors (LCSWs) and Masters Level Case Managers (MSWs) for potential expansions of intensive case management services on-site at 2505 Fannin, at the House of Tiny Treasures, and in off-site situations. These positions are dependent on grant funding decisions that SEARCH will be hearing about over the next 6-8 weeks with potential start dates ranging from August 1st to September 1st.
