Benefiting SEARCH and its Tiny Treasures Programs

Nicole Perdue raised over $170,000 for SEARCH and its Tiny Treasures Programs!

The 2007 SEARCH Luncheon was an unbelievable success. Over 340 Houstonians were in attendance, among them Ambassador Arthur and Joyce Schechter, Lorraine and Ed Wulfe and Council Member Peter Brown, Pete DeLongchamps, Vince Rachal, and Shelly Cyprus. Reverend Patrick Miller of Christ Church Cathedral graciously gave the Invocation.  Guests enjoyed a lunch prepared by The Houstonian Hotel and cakes from Dessert Gallery. The venue and food were both fabulous!

Robert Fuller, author of Somebodies & Nobodies, the book that identified the malady of rankism, and All Rise, which describes a dignitarian society committed to overcoming it, spoke to attendees of a dignitarian society. Dignitarian is defined as a condition in which the dignity of all people is honored and protected, a person who advocates for a dignitarian society, or one whose conduct and attitudes are dignitarian. Robert Fuller expounded upon the cultural shift necessary to overcome rankism by recognizing that we all have the same inherent worth as anyone else. To find out more, please visit his website.

The Founders Award, given to exceptional individuals who, through personal thoughtfulness, have helped transform the life of a homeless man, woman or child, was presented to the owner of Kolache Kafe, Beau Foshee, by Laurance J. Payne. Beau hired SEARCH client Cynthia and recommends to anyone hiring SEARCH clients. Cynthia has worked her way through the SEARCH continuum of services to regain her self-sufficiency.

Thank you to everyone who supported the "... And Dignity for ALL" SEARCH Luncheon.
