What is the Young Ambassadors?

Houston’s most exciting young professional volunteer group!

Many young professionals are deciding which organizations they want to support. These individuals and couples choose to join an organization’s group based on their personal convictions, interests, and lifestyle. SEARCH’s Young Ambassadors group aims to communicate the issues of homelessness by connecting with young professionals in a fun and meaningful way.

If you are a young professional interested in changing lives and ending homelessness in Houston, then join SEARCH’s Young Ambassadors. SEARCH is a fantastic, vibrant organization working to make the world a better place by helping the homeless. We are planning on doing some great stuff, and if you want to get in and get serious leadership experience by exercising your skills at marketing, public speaking, event planning, or coordinate donation drives then this is the group for you! We also hold some great quarterly mixers, what better way to network with Houston’s young professionals, and make a difference in your community through awareness and education.

Mission:

To facilitate involvement of young professionals in support of SEARCH’s mission to change lives and end homelessness.

Requirements:

$200 annual gift, minimum
24 – 45 years of age
Active, take-charge individuals
Committee meetings once a month

June 8, 2006

We held our first mixer at the home of Co-chairs Leslie and Hedley Karpas. Fifty young professionals joined us to socialize, talk about the issues, and meet the Executive Committee. Ambassador Arthur Schechter stopped by to inform every one of SEARCH’s mission and focus for Houston homeless. View pictures.

Beautiful weather & great course…what more could we have asked for! Karpas Properties benefited SEARCH at their 8th Annual Marti Shlenker Memorial Golf Tournament on October 25 at Wild Cat Golf Club. Chair Pete DeLongchamps helped raise over $39,000 for SEARCH. The humanitarian award was presented to Downey Bridgwater, President & CEO of Sterling Bank.

Over one hundred young professionals showed up at Gravitas to view Be True's lastest line of jewelry, drink champagne and martinis, and eat delicious food provided by Gravitas. A portion of the jewelry sales from the evening will benefit SEARCH.
