Mobile Outreach

Mobile Outreach Caseworkers Under BridgeWith limited shelter beds and transitional housing options, over 6,000 men and women struggle daily with life on the streets without care or opportunities. These individuals are immobilized by physical or mental health impairments and restricted due to their geographic isolation. Many of them are US veterans who have served our country during the Vietnam War, Gulf War, and more recent conflicts.

SEARCH's Mobile Outreach Program began in 1992 to respond to the needs of those who are unaware of or are unable to access social service providers' assistance. A team of trained staff travel throughout Houston/Harris County to build trusting relationships with individuals and engage them to seek other alternatives. The team, working in tandem with the partners listed below, provides food, water, clothing, health care, blankets, hygiene items, insect repellant, and most importantly, a lifeline to needed help.
